DIRECTOR OF ANNUAL GIVING at PIONEER THEATRE COMPANY
Pioneer Theatre Company, a professional not-for-profit theatre in-residence at the University of Utah, is seeking a dynamic person with an interest in the arts to direct its individual and foundation giving programs.
The Director of Annual Giving manages all development activities involved with the solicitation of donations from individuals and foundation grants. This person will develop and implement the theatre’s comprehensive individual giving program, including coordinating the annual direct mail and phone campaigns; overseeing donor records, gift acknowledgments, and giving reports; identifying new prospects; and planning stewardship events. In the area of foundation giving, the director will research and develop grant proposals to national and family foundations.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalency; and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. Experience which includes fundraising, grant and publication writing, planning and implementing special events and programs and a successful track record in raising donations is preferred.
Assists in organizing and implementing fundraising campaigns and special development projects for Pioneer Theatre Company. Plans, develops and manages specific program/events centered on public relations and development activities. Researches sources, collaborates with staff members and coordinates volunteers. Assists with design and implementation of new ideas and programs. Evaluates effectiveness and makes recommendations for change. Identifies and maintains information on donors and prospective donors. Develops and distributes brochures and literature supporting development activities and programs.
Working knowledge of desktop publishing software is desired. Experience with database software is highly desired. Interest and patronage of theatre is a plus.
