We are hiring a full-time Grant Manager in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Grants Manager leads grant strategy, grant writing, and contract management for a nonprofit organization providing treatment and housing for low-income Utahns managing behavioral health conditions. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the grant lifecycle, from research and proposal development to compliance and reporting, while supervising a team of Development and Grants Coordinators. The Grants Manager will develop and implement strategies to maximize grant funding opportunities, ensure compliance with funder requirements, and contribute to overall fundraising initiatives. Federal, state, and local government grants and partner agency contracts comprise the majority of grant contracts. Success in this role requires exceptional writing skills, strategic thinking, relationship management expertise, and the ability to mentor and develop staff.

  • Pay Ranges from $75,000 - 85,000 per year

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive grant strategies aligned with organizational goals and funding needs
  • Lead the writing of complex and high-value grant proposals, letters of intent, and funding applications
  • Review and edit grant proposals drafted by Development and Grants Coordinators to ensure quality and consistency
  • Identify and research new funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources
  • Oversee comprehensive grants management systems for 100+ annual grant proposals and 30-50 contracts, including foundation, corporate, government (city/county/state/federal), and private funders
  • Ensure timely submission of all interim and final grant reports
  • Monitor grant expenditures in coordination with accounting staff to ensure compliance with funder requirements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key funding contacts through regular communication
  • Create and implement systems to track grant performance metrics and outcomes
  • Directly supervise Development and Grants Coordinators, including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Delegate and assign grant responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow and meet deadlines
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for direct reports
  • Contribute to overall development strategy and fundraising goals
  • Assist with major donor cultivation and stewardship as needed
  • Support fundraising events and campaigns
