Director of Development


Position Summary: Utah Youth Village is seeking a socially poised, proactive, and enthusiastic individual as our new Director of Development. As Director of Development, you will make an impact on the lives of children and families by maintaining and growing relationships with like-minded individuals. You will report to the Director of Advancement and your innovative efforts will expand the Village’s fundraising programs to generate new revenue by identifying and cultivating prospective donors, and develop and implement strategies that increase giving levels of current donors. You will leverage the support of your team members in enhancing the ROI of corporate and major gift giving, annual giving, capital campaigns, stewardship programs, as well as many other fundraising related events and activities. You will tap your extensive network within the community to drive awareness and create and maintain excitement to support Utah Youth Village and its many positive life changing programs. In this very “hands on” role, you will balance multiple projects and remain motivated by seeing the impact of your work. As a natural problem solver, you will be undaunted by failure in your pursuit of meeting and surpassing fundraising goals. Compensation & Benefits: • Salary: $65,000.00 to $85,000.00 /year (Based on experience) • Exceptional benefit offerings – Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, plus • Generous PTO and remarkable work/life balance • Opportunity to lead and expand development team based on successful achievements Responsibilities: • Collaborate with the Village Board leadership, President/CEO and Director of Advancement on the creation of a tactical fund development plan to support the strategic direction of the organization. • Lead major gift efforts by researching, developing and maintaining relationships with individual major donors. Steward major gifts and ensure donors are informed of the effects of their generosity. • Establish contacts and network with local businesses and corporations. • Make public appearances/accept speaking engagements to share information about Utah Youth Village with the community. • Oversee all fundraising campaigns and activities, including corporate sponsorship program, annual fund program and major events, such as the Annual Helping Hand Gala. • Recruit and train volunteer fundraising leadership. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or additional professional training helpful • Previous experience in Non-Profit fundraising from multiple donor channels; 5 years’ experience, with leadership responsibilities, preferred • Familiarity with Utah philanthropic community strongly preferred • Have passion for and be able to convey the vision of Utah Youth Village Who we are: “Help one child, help generations to come” – Lila Bjorklund, Founder As Utah’s largest not-for-profit provider of programs that heal and elevate lives using proven family solutions, Utah Youth Village maintains several programs that have had a long-lasting positive effect in our community.
