We are seeking a Chief Development Officer for the Utah Nevada Region to serve our community and support our lifesaving services. This dynamic position will be based out of the Regional Headquarters office in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The Regional Chief Development Officer position is a regional leadership position responsible for strengthening and growing the donor and sponsor base and the development program to meet assigned financial and blood collection goals. The position drives a strong revenue-oriented culture based on market-driven targets. The position leads a development team in planning, implementing and managing fundraising activities, blood drive sponsorship and relationship management strategies for the Region. The position is a highly visible role that will represent the Region, in partnership with Donor Recruitment, in cultivating donors and sponsors with the greatest capacity to support the organization in achieving our development and blood drive sponsorship goals. This position reports jointly to the Regional Executive and Divisional Development Vice President (DDVP). This position is responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual attainment of both revenue and blood collection goals.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is highly desirable.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of fundraising leadership experience. Proactive development leader with an established track record of increasing philanthropic revenue from diverse constituencies. Experience in the development and implementation of a broad-based fundraising program including personally opening doors, cultivation and successfully closing major gifts. Significant expertise with the Region’s funding community highly desirable. Progressive experience in successful development programs and knowledge of “best practices” in development. Corporate and/or Business-to-Business sales leadership experience may be substituted for fundraising experience.
